Days of Awe 5777 at Adas Yoshuron
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services with Rabbi David Freidenreich will be held at Adas Yoshuron Synagogue, 50 Willow Street. Services are open to all. There is no charge for seats and no reservations are needed; donations are gratefully accepted.
During the Days of Awe, we will be collecting canned and dry goods for the Area Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry. Please bring a box or can of non-perishable, nutritious food to add to the collection boxes, which will be located outside the sanctuary and downstairs. Thank you.
EREV ROSH HASHANAH — Sunday, October 2, 6:30 p.m.
Services will be led by Dana Goldsmith with the Adas Yoshuron choir. We welcome Rabbi David Freidenreich. Potluck dessert oneg to follow. Please bring a dessert or fruit to share.
ROSH HASHANAH — First Day  — Monday, October 3, 9 a.m. Services will be led by Rabbi Freidenreich and Meyer Drapkin and will end at approximately 1 p.m. Torah Reader: Michael Kosowsky; Haftorah: Richard Aroneau.
***Children’s Service and Activity at 10:30 a.m. with Minda Gold
TASHLICH – Monday, October 3, 4:30 p.m. Tashlich will be held at the Public Landing at Rockland Harbor Park. There is ample parking and easy access for tossing crumbs. Meet in the parking lot and we’ll walk together to the shoreline. BYOC! (Bring your own crumbs!)
ROSH HASHANAH—Second Day — Tuesday, October 4, 9 a.m. Services will be led by Rabbi Freidenreich and Meyer Drapkin and will end at approximately 1 p.m. We will once again have a participatory, discussion-oriented service. The theme will be “The Binding of Isaac in Poetry.” Torah Reader: Michael Kosowsky; Haftorah: Sara Kahn Troster
KOL NIDRE — Tuesday, October 11, 5:30 p.m. sharp
Services will be led by Dana Goldsmith with the Adas Yoshuron choir and Rabbi David Freidenreich. Please arrive by 5:15 p.m. to find your seat. We will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m.
YOM KIPPUR — Wednesday, October 129 a.m.
Services will be led by Rabbi Freidenreich and Meyer Drapkin and will end at approximately 1:30 p.m. Yizkor will take place around 11:30 a.m. Torah Reader: Susan Wind; Haftorah: Dana Goldsmith
***Children’s Service and Activity at 10:30 a.m. with Minda Gold
Minchah Afternoon Service, including the Book of Jonah — 3:45 p.m.
We will have a participatory, discussion-oriented service led by Rabbi Freidenreich. The theme will be “The Power of Words.” Torah Reader: Susan Wind. The Book of Jonah: Sara Kahn Troster.
Concluding Service/Neilah/Final Shofar Blowing — 5:45 p.m.
Community Break-the-Fast — 6:45 p.m.
