Maple Sugar Shabbat

  • Adas Yoshuron Synagogue (map)

Learn about maple sugaring during a very special guided visit to Aldermere Farm, 70 Russell Ave., Rockport!

In February, we celebrated Tu B’Shevat, the New Year of the Trees. This month, we’ll continue learning about the importance and value of trees during a visit to Aldermere Farm in Rockport, as we learn about the process of making maple syrup from scratch (sap) to finish. Led by Maine Coast Heritage Trust Program Manager Aaron Englander, we'll start by identifying and tapping sugar maples, hauling buckets of sap, tending the evaporator, and tasting the final product. All ages welcome! RSVP: programming@adasyoshuron.org.
